History

The communities of Hillhurst and Sunnyside were established in the early 1900's and have evolved from wooden sidewalks, dirt roads and workers' cottages into an urban enclave where the architecture reflects the eclectic nature of this community's story. The communities contain some of the oldest residential buildings in Calgary which are celebrated in the annual Century Homes Calgary tour.
